Fabric of Sicily
We took a trip the the village of Aci Trezza, in Sicily, to document the Rodolico family, who are the last family on the island hand-crafting traditional wooden boats. Salvatore and his son, Giovanni Rodolico are preserving this ancient art, using techniques that have been passed through 4 generations.
Combining artistry and precision to transform raw wood into elegant vessels, carrying the spirit of Mediterranean heritage and the relationship between man and nature.
What we got from this story was more than just boat making. It was about love, family, gratitude and true purpose.
